  • SPort Divers Split Lens Silicone Mask MK128

This mask is marketed as a moderately priced mask that one can fit prescription lens in. It was moderately priced, we could put in prescription lens in, problem was it lasted for less then 30 hours of snorkeling time. The silicone seal split and then let water seep in. The mask was Wendy's mask and she wasn't happy.

In 2011 we were back in the USA and replacing the mask was on our list. I looked up Sport Divers on the internet and found the manufactures website and two dive shops that carried the MK128. None of them had a working website; one site listed the owners phone number so I called and he said to come in; in Ohio, we were in Iowa. When I informed the owner of the impossiblility of us going to the store and asked if he could sell me two of the masks over the phone he said "No"! Amazing and I thought there was talk of a recession going on. The other site I looked at just plain didn't work and I tried the email contact and the phone. Neither of which got any results. The web store for the manufactures site didn't work.

I'm grading this company and this product an F for two reasons: First, the mask had an extremly short life when taken care of properly - fresh water rinse, dried and stored in the container in which we purchased it, and Second, It was next to impossible to find a replacement (remember we already had the prescription lenses. IMHO availability of the mask is almost nill. Even the manufactuerers website was "down for maintenance". So this company and this mask joins the other illustrius group in the F rating.
